The technique of laying threads is very old. In former times images were created with wool threads or other textile materials.
There is evidence of this in many cultures.
Silk is a very special material for me. Silk caresses as it flows, cools, warms and glistens.
If you look closely, you will see images hand crafted with hundreds of silk threads and a great deal of precision and patience.
The gleam and the three dimensional space are created by concerted arrangement of the threads. The direction of the silk thread determines the play of light and shadows.
This makes the images appear particularly sublime and flowing.
Monochrome images and color plays are challenges to my creativity.
The fascination lies in the changes to the images when viewed from another perspective.
"The art of creation lies in the gift of perceiving the particular and generalizing it, thus creating the particular again!"
